Recognizing Anxiety Symptoms

An amount of anxiety is normal, but if your anxiety symptoms begin to dominate your your entire day, you probably should find a therapy for treatment of them. Often people are concerned and get stressed or scared when confronting a situation that is stressful. It is considered to be the body’s natural response when it feels in danger.

While anxiety is not fun, sometimes it is good to live through it. Anxiety helps you to stay focused and alert, and help you find motivation. However, if you are always experiencing anxiety and it becomes too much for you to handle, it can hinder relationships and other areas of your life. This is when you should consider the fact that you may have an anxiety disorder and seek anxiety or panic attack cures.

Anxiety or panic symptoms can be different for everyone. While some people will deal with severe panic attacks with no warning, still others might just get anxious at the thought of something. Still others may deal with a life controlled by tension where they worry about absolutely everything. There is, however, one symptom that all sufferers have: constant or intense fear or worry about things that most people wouldn’t think twice about.

There are emotional symptoms of anxiety in addition to the primary symptoms regarding irrational, excessive worry and fear[/spin/. These include:

* Feelings of irritability
* Difficulty Experiencing feelings of apprehension
* Feeling agitated
* Being tense
* Fear of the worst
* Paranoia
* Feeling as if your mind has gone blank

On top of the emotional panic symptoms, there are also physical symptoms that accompany a panic attack. Because these are so numerous, people often think these symptoms are caused by a medical illness. Some physical symptoms of panic attacks are:

* Profuse sweating
* Severe headaches
* Heart pounding
* Nausea and /or dizziness
* Inability to sleep
* Urinating frequently and/or diarrhea
* Uncontrollable tremors or twitches
* Tense muscles
* Fatigue
* Shortness of breath

Most panic attacks reach their peak within 10 minutes, and rarely last more than 30 minutes. This may not seem like a long time, but it does to the one who’s experiencing the symptoms. The anxiety experienced during the attacks can be so intense that there is a persistent feeling of impending death. The physical symptoms can be so horrible that a lot of people believe they are experiencing a cardiac arrest.
